2017 Yamaha YFZ450R SE Price, Specs, Features – Standing in the sport quad section of the Yamaha dealers can be confusing. A virtual family of Raptors piled up with three Yamaha YFZ450R SE models. By standing at the top of the performance pile, it must be one of the 450 or the Raptor 700s. If you are looking for a serious performance, you need to make a 450/700 decision. We opted to descend from the top and selected the YFZ450R Special Edition to compare it with the Raptor 700R Special Edition. In the YFZ450R, the Special Edition package includes a black frame and swingarm, combined with midnight blue (almost black) graphics, front and rear fenders are released with a quick-release tool, and GYTR blades with dealers installed.
At YFZ450R SE, SE package includes a special graphics scheme, GYTR grab and heel guard, and the price is less than the 2012 model! If you are looking for a quad to follow MX, then 450 has a total advantage here, because so many racing organizations recognize the class. Most of us are not racing, and the question of what Yamaha buys is legitimate – if it is difficult – to be answered clearly. Carefully read through the list of specifications and you will see that the factor for giving balance to one quad or the other is not there. There’s only a $ 150 difference, and the difference is about 20kg. Apparently, we had to drive it back to back to compare the two. The task is difficult, but we’re here for our readers!
Both models use hybrid frames that incorporate aluminum and steel components for the cutting-edge chassis. 700 combines the steel front with aluminum back and removable subframe. 450 walking to another route with that frame. The light aluminum frame bolts together! The member of the frame under the machine is steel. Steel lets the engine sit lower on the frame. The front of the frame, where the attachment A-arms, is narrow enough to minimize changes to the camber because the suspension uses its journey. The controls are great in taste and for the effort required. The parking brake outside the door is a great design. YFZ450R SE does have the opposite, but 450 does not. Instrumentation is minimal, but adequate for the intended purpose. Both machines use the same size tires, but 450 rolls on Dunlops, andYFZ450R choose Maxxis products. 700 has a more spacious cockpit, but 450 is easier to set up, with four positions for mounts.

2017 Yamaha YFZ450R SE – Engine Performance
This 2018 Yamaha YFZ450R SE model is powered by 5-valve engine, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC, 449cc, placing it in the displacement class The 11.8: 1 compression ratio is 18% higher than the average ATV sport. A higher compression ratio is desirable because this means the machine can do the same amount of work with less fuel, leading to increased efficiency and power for a given engine size; High compression ratio shows high performance.
3.74-inch cylinder bolt and 2.5 inch stroke make this machine oversquare, which means more powerful than the same sized machine with smaller holes. YFZ450R SE comes standard with a 5 speed manual transmission featuring a wet multiplate clutch. Engine braking is also included for better speed control, especially when dropping steep terrain. The final drive of the O-ring chain transfers power to the axle.
The Yamaha YFZ450R SE with fuel injected 449cc engine has outstanding power characteristics. Delivers smooth and powerful power from lines with lots of midrange power to top-end.
Head of Advanced Cylinder
The 449cc engine uses a five-cylinder valve head and titanium valve technology designed to generate abundant power in the mid-range to the top, with more “distress” feeling during idle. A high compression ratio will improve overall engine performance.
YFZ450R SE combines Yamaha Fuel Injection for proper fuel delivery. With a massive 42mm micuni® thriller and a 12-hole injector, the system provides superb fuel atomization for maximum power. The system also includes ISC (Idle Speed Control) for easy start-up and easy and reliable heating.
Assist and Slipper Clutch
The assist-and-slipper clutch reduces the clutch lever as it is less tired while at the same time increasing the clutch plate pressure for positive engagement. This coupling system also reduces the engine braking effect, which allows faster cornering, especially during downshifting.
Compact Compact Engine
Crankcase holds the crankshaft ready to handle the increasing demands of the racer, as well as the ball counters to reduce vibration. Crankcase also holds an oil tank, which helps focus the masses for unrivaled handling while simplifying maintenance.
Camshaft has been revised to help maximize impressive machine power output from a distance up to the top end.

2017 Yamaha YFZ450R SE – Features
This Yamaha YFZ450R SE features independent, double wishbone front suspension. In the rear, you’ll find a swingarm system. As a bonus, the system is fully-adjustable.
2018 Yamaha YFZ450R SE In the front, travel is 9.8in, while in the rear it is 11in, a positive difference of 1.2in. This means that the rear travels more than the front, which may signify that this model is designed to carry a lot of cargo (which would weigh down the rear and even the weight distribution). If the difference becomes too large, however, this vehicle runs the risk of bottoming out when navigating bumby, hilly terrain.
The YFZ450R SE is the most technologically advanced sport ATV on the market today. It combines a high-tech, quick-revving, titanium-valved, 449cc fuel-injected engine with a lightweight, professional-caliber cast aluminum/steel chassis. The power and chassis combination makes for a championship-winning machine time and time again.
The YFZ450R SE is motocross ready. The weldless frame is designed from lightweight aluminum, with a tension-steel bottom frame that lets the engine sit lower for excellent mass centralization. Suspension components and settings reduce weight while providing light, sharp handling and rider comfort.
Bodywork is designed for great ergonomics and rider comfort, with more room to hang off in the corners, and the seat shape is padded in just the right places to improve lap times. Body panels come off easily without tools for service; there’s no need to remove the battery or other components to take the fenders off.
Advanced Cylinder Head
The 2018 Yamaha YFZ450R SE 449cc engine uses titanium five-valve cylinder head technology designed to deliver abundant power in the mid-range to top end, with more “hit” feeling right off idle. The higher compression ratio further improves overall engine performance.
The Yamaha YFZ450R SE incorporates Yamaha Fuel Injection for precise fuel delivery. With a big 42mm Mikuni® throttle body and 12-hole injector, this system provides exceptional atomization of the fuel for maximum power. The system also includes ISC (Idle Speed Control) for easy, reliable start-up and warming.
Assist and Slipper Clutch
An assist-and-slipper clutch reduces clutch lever effort for less fatigue while at the same time increasing clutch plate pressure for positive engagement. This clutch system also reduces engine braking effect, which allows faster cornering, particularly when downshifting.
Aggressive SE Style
Aggressive styling gives the YFZ450R SE a dark and racy look, with extras like a GYTR® front grab bar to match its unique graphics package.
