Polaris power ‘not armstretching, but it has a low fat and midrange power that does not stop on a hill or soft terrain. It’s amazing where this will go. The Sportsman 450 is all about subtlety. In front, there is nonadjustable MacPherson struts with 8.2 inches of travel. At the rear, the double A-arm and spring preload-adjustable shocks with 9.5 inches of travel. A rear sway bars limit body roll.
It gives a better ride than we expected from a budget 4 × 4. The suspension can not match Sportsman 450 ATV compliance with the best out there, but at a small bump performance is excellent, and there was quite a large suspension stroke handle bumps at higher speeds. The suspension is right on target, so that the Sportsman 450 offers a good balance of comfort and capability in rough terrain and at a higher speed.
