2018 Yamaha Wolverine R Spec EPS SpecsYamaha continues to push into uncharted UTV territory by Wolverine R-Spec EPS. This rugged side-by-side represents recreational vehicles and next-generation offroad vehicles. The factory has been building it for a while now, and some features show they are considering customer feedback, and progress is due to the lack of competition in this sector. While the name “Wolverine” implies a certain persistence, I wonder what will be called the next generation – I’m still looking forward to really meaningful names, like “Tyson” or “Honey Badger.”

Yamaha is back in the UTV market with a two-seater engine that is very impressive. Back in 2004, Yamaha changed the UTV market simultaneously when Rhino was introduced. This is the first year of UTVs commercial recreation outsold commercial utilities side-by-side. I bought one in the year 20018 when they offer electronic fuel ignition and motor upgrades from 660 to 700. While they power 700, it’s actually a 703cc motor.

2018 Yamaha Wolverine R Spec EPS – Engine

The 2018 Yamaha Wolverine R-Spec EPS is powered by the newest, most advanced Yamaha 700 class engine with dual overhead cams and fuel injection. The 708cc engine’s character power is optimized for delivering smooth, linear power in the roughest, most technical terrain and open trails.

The Wolverine R-Spec EPS is equipped with a 4-valve, double-displacement (DOHC) engine and 708 cc of fuel injection to optimize engine torque, power and character to traverse even the most challenging off-road terrain.

Yamaha Ultramatic CVT automatic transmission has low, high, reverse and neutral gear selection, and comes with a constant belt tensioning centrifugal clutch that reduces belt slippage (and burnout!) Due to extremely difficult terrain or To operator error.

An On-Command dashboard control applies to two-wheel drive, four-wheel drive or full-differential four-wheel lock to provide full and flexible traction control at the fingertips of the driver.

The unidirectional friction clutch allows the braking of the engine regardless of the driving mode, and eliminates the feeling of free running when traveling downhill. I would like to point out that the brake pads are cheaper to replace than the components of the unit, so using the engine braking instead of “braking brake” may be something of a false economy.

Unique Ultramatic® CVT from Yamaha
Ultramatic fully automatic transmission with high and reverse and neutral provides the toughest CVT transmission in the industry. The 1-way clutch produces the most natural machine braking of all wheels and eliminates the “freewheeling” found in some competitive models. A centrifugal clutch maintains constant belt tension and eliminates slippage by reducing belt wear and improving durability.

On Command® Four Wheel Drive
On-Command® puts the driver in control of 2WD, 4WD or 4WD full dc lock with convenient mounted and easy to use dash mounted.

Tool-less inlet system without tools
The high volume air intake optimizes and the power character for off-road situations and is placed under the hood to keep it out of the elements. The large foam air filter is reusable and accessible without tools.

Ease of intelligent service
Gear drain holes, coolant and engine oil have been designed on full length slide plates, making maintenance and maintenance of the Wolverine EPS R-Spec very convenient.
